There are significant differences between copper enameled wire and aluminum enameled wire in many aspects, including their physical properties, conductive properties, mechanical properties, and advantages and disadvantages.

1.Physical properties:

Copper enameled wire is usually golden yellow, while aluminum enameled wire is silver gray. This is a simple and intuitive way to distinguish.

In terms of density and weight, aluminum enameled wire has a smaller density and lighter weight than copper enameled wire.

2. Conductive properties:

Copper is a highly conductive metal. Compared with aluminum enameled wire of the same specifications, copper enameled wire has better conductivity and greater transmission capacity.

Therefore, when selecting cable materials, you need to choose copper enameled wire or aluminum enameled wire according to the specific power requirements.

Although aluminum's electrical conductivity is slightly worse than copper, aluminum wires are relatively low in price and have lower production costs than other metal wires. However, aluminum wire requires a larger cross-sectional area to achieve the same conductivity.

3. Mechanical properties:

Copper enameled wire has good mechanical properties and can withstand greater tension. Therefore, in some situations with higher requirements on cables, such as high temperature environment and vibration environment, it is recommended to use copper enameled wire.

The mechanical properties of aluminum enameled wire are relatively poor, but in some applications, its lighter weight can reduce the overall weight of the equipment.

4. Price:

The price of copper enameled wire is usually higher than that of aluminum enameled wire because the price of copper is relatively high. However, considering the high electrical conductivity and excellent mechanical properties of copper enameled wire, its long-term operation and maintenance costs may be lower.

Although the initial investment of aluminum enameled wire is lower, due to its slightly poorer conductive properties, a larger wire diameter may be required to achieve the same transmission capacity, which may increase its overall cost.
