Advantages of Mica Roll
Premium Composition: Made from high-quality phlogopite mica paper (or synthetic mica paper) with high-temperature silicone resin. Available in natural (brown) or artificial (white) mica variants.
Excellent Insulation: Extremely high dielectric strength – e.g., breakdown voltage >2 kV at 0.2 mm (≈10 kV/mm) and >8 kV at 0.8 mm thickness. Provides superb electrical insulation and low loss for transformers, motors, generators, and high-voltage equipment.
High Thermal Resistance: Standard grades resist approximately 800 °C (IEC Class F); specialty furnace rolls withstand up to 1200 °C. It is ideal for induction and arc furnace linings, industrial ovens, and other environments with extreme heat.
Reinforced Structure: Select variants feature fiberglass cloth on one or both sides, or ceramic-fiber backings (e.g., R-5461-Combi grades). Reinforcements enhance tensile strength (≥160 N/15 mm) and durability while maintaining flexibility.
Chemical and Environmental Stability: Inert to acids/alkalis with excellent aging resistance. No toxic additives – emits no hazardous gases at high temperatures—non-flammable and self-extinguishing (typical mica behavior).
Flexible & Handling-Friendly: High flexibility allows wrapping and cutting into custom shapes without cracking. A smooth, dry surface finish (non-adhesive) facilitates easy processing.
Custom Options: Offered in a full range of thicknesses (0.20–2.50 mm), standard 1000 mm width, and roll lengths of 20–100 m (or longer). Cores: 76 mm ID paper or plastic by default (other core IDs on request). Both mica paper roll and mica tube roll configurations are available, with mica tube counts per roll tailored to the specific application.

Types of Mica Roll
Pure Mica Rolls
These are made from natural mica and are known for their excellent slip plane properties, which prevent damage to furnace linings during expansion and contraction. They are typically used in the foundry and steel industries.
Glass Mica Rolls
These combine mica with glass fiber reinforcement, providing additional mechanical strength and support for furnace linings. Different variations exist, such as single-sided or double-sided glass fiber reinforcement, offering varying degrees of strength and ease of handling.
Mica Combi Laminates
These are composite materials with multiple layers of mica and other materials like glass scrim cloth for enhanced strength and flexibility. They are used in larger furnaces and offer exceptional strength and tear resistance.
