★ Polyester Film Creation
Polymerization: The process begins with the chemical reaction (polycondensation) of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) with monoethylene glycol (MEG) at high temperatures to create polyester polymer chains.
Extrusion: The molten polyester polymer is then extruded onto a chilled roll to form a thin film.
Biaxial Orientation: This film is subsequently stretched first in the machine direction (MD) and then in the transverse direction (TD) to increase its strength and mechanical properties.
Heat Setting: The film is then heat-set to stabilize the oriented molecules and prevent it from shrinking at temperatures below its heat-set point.
