Refurbished insulators

In March 2023, China Central Radio and Television (CCTV) exposed the illegal flow of refurbished insulators to multiple power projects by the involved enterprises. The quality of power equipment is an important factor affecting the safety of power equipment. The illegal use of refurbished insulators will cause serious safety hazards and threaten power safety.
On March 17, 2023, in order to strengthen the safety management of power equipment and effectively ensure power safety production, the Comprehensive Department of the National Energy Administration issued an emergency notice on investigating and rectifying refurbished insulators to strengthen the safety management of power equipment (National Energy Administration Comprehensive Safety [2023] No. 27).
