Transformer Insulating Pressboard is a high-density insulating material made from high-purity electrical wood pulp fibers through mechanical pressing, dehydration, and heat treatment.
It offers excellent electrical properties, mechanical strength, and oil resistance. It is primarily used in the insulation structure of oil-immersed transformers, such as spacers, gaskets, supports, and clamps.
Thickness Range: 0.5 mm – 8 mm (2.0 / 3.0 / 4.0 / 5.0 mm are common)
Density: 1.05 – 1.25 g/cm³
Electrical Properties:
Dielectric Strength: ≥ 6–10 kV/mm
Volume Resistivity: ≥ 10¹² Ω·cm
Mechanical Properties:
Compressive Strength: ≥ 100 MPa
Flexural Strength: ≥ 150 MPa
Moisture Content: ≤ 8% (5–7% is often required)
Oil Resistance: No delamination or swelling after long-term immersion in transformer oil
Processability: Can be cut, punched, turned, and milled
