Transformer Pressure relief valve

This is our pressure relief valve for Transformer, a vital safety part made specifically for oil-immersed transformers, power capacitors and on-load tap changers.

What it's built for

When a transformer breaks down, overheated coils will turn insulating oil into gas and build extreme pressure inside the tank in a split second. This valve pops open within just 2ms to release the surge pressure right away, so the tank won't warp or blow apart. Once pressure drops back to normal, the valve seals tightly again. It stops rainwater and air from seeping into the tank, so your transformer oil and internal insulation stay clean and dry.

Application & Performance

Pressure relief valves are fitted on oil-immersed power transformers, power capacitors and on-load tap-changers to safeguard the equipment oil tank. When a fault occurs inside an operating oil-immersed transformer, overheated windings vaporize transformer oil, causing a sharp pressure spike within the tank. The relief valve triggers within 2 milliseconds to discharge excess pressure instantly, stopping the tank from deforming or bursting. If tank pressure climbs back up to the set opening threshold, the valve will activate again until internal pressure drops back to normal levels. Once pressure eases, the valve seals tightly shut. This stops outside moisture and air from seeping into the tank, preventing contamination of the transformer's internal components.
