Definition of Glass Insulator
A Suspension glass Insulator is made of tempered soda-lime glass through a high-temperature molding process and is used as a core component for supporting conductors and providing electrical insulation in transmission lines. Its surface forms a prestressed structure (compressive stress layer thickness ≥ 0.3 mm), with unique self-cleaning properties and fault visibility.
Performance Advantages and Data Support
Mechanical Strength: Rated mechanical load 70-550 kN (in accordance with IEC 60383 standard), tensile strength of 800 MPa, 30% higher than conventional porcelain insulators.
Zero-Value Self-Explosion Characteristics: 100% self-explosion identification of defective products, failure rate <0.0001%/year (CIGRE 45-05 report).
Weather Resistance:
Passed 5000 hours salt spray test (ASTM B117).
UV resistance level UV-A 8 (ASTM G154).
Applicable temperature range: -60℃ to +80℃ (IEC 60797).
